SPENNYMOOR STAGE AND SONG
Affiliated to the
National Operatic and Dramatic Association

Spennymoor Stage and Song are an amateur dramatic society from County Durham. We welcome anyone who has a passion for singing, dancing and performing and who would like to be part of a friendly talented group. We currently stage two shows a year, a pantomime held in January and a musical show in April with rehearsals running from September to April.
2012 saw the society celebrating its 100 year anniversary, where we staged 'Oliver' that year. We also looked forward to staging both our regular production and pantomime as well as ending the year on yet another first, the staging of "Sound of Music" at the Gala Theatre in Durham, alongside the Endellion Theatre Company!
We first began in 1912 with the first performance "Trial by Jury" staged in 1913 and for many years to follow almost all of the shows were Gilbert and Sullivan productions. Over the past 25 years we have performed a number of firsts for the area, giving us the reputation of trying our hand at anything.
A personal note to our supporters: Thank you!
